Investigating - We are currently investigating an issue causing significant delays in email delivery to consumer Gmail accounts, including messages from forwarding accounts. Messages sent to Gmail recipients may take substantially longer than expected to arrive. Northwestern IT will be working with our vendor to upgrade hardware on the Two-Way Radio System. During this maintenance window there will be a brief service interruption of approximately 15 minutes at 7:15 AM. All users will see “Out of Range" on their radios and there will be no service on either campus. The only exception is limited radio to radio communication for UP CSOs, Facilities, and TNS who will be able to use secondary zone channel 4 for a talk around which is programmed into the radios. Facilities Dispatch stations will not function. NUPD Dispatch stations will see Starcom and Cook County resources but not the Northwestern radio network.

Northwestern Information Technology will be performing software upgrades on a small group of University Desktop Phones. We will be upgrading the software on these phones to resolve security vulnerabilities. Each phone will reboot multiple times over a two to three minute time frame to complete the upgrade. Telephones that are participating in active calls at the time of the upgrade will defer the upgrade until the active call is completed.

Quest Analytics Nodes Maintenance Sep 15, 2026 07:00-12:00 CDT
The Quest Analytics Nodes will be unavailable during scheduled maintenance starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15th.
Service Improvements:
• Better support for latest R packages and tools, improved package management, and faster performance via upgrade to R version 4.5.1
• Enhanced reliability, faster performance, and newer data exploration capabilities in RStudio environment via upgrade to RStudio version 2026.07.1
Impact on Quest Analytics Nodes Users:
• Processes running on the Quest Analytics Nodes will be canceled when the maintenance begins.
• Users will not be able to use RStudio, JupyterHub, or SAS Studio on the Quest Analytics Nodes during the maintenance window.
• After R is upgraded to version 4.5.1, R packages should be reinstalled. Users can prepare before the maintenance by loading the R/4.5.1 module on Quest and reinstalling their packages there; see the R and RStudio on Quest page for instructions. Once maintenance is complete, those packages will be available for use on the Quest Analytics Nodes.
