Northwestern Information Technology will be performing a software upgrade to the Palo Alto Departmental firewalls on the Evanston Campus listed below. The firewalls are being upgraded to install new software that brings them up to the latest vendor-recommended version and also protects us from recently released security vulnerabilities. Standalone firewalls will be down for around 5-10 minutes during the reboot. No end user impact for the Redundant Paired firewalls during this upgrade due to the redundant nature of this equipment.

To complete our scheduled upgrade to the newest version of the software, NUFinancials will be unavailable from 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13rd, until 7 P.M. on Saturday, March 14th, 2026. Please note that we will send a go-live message once NUFinancials is back online. Project Background: As a reminder, the upgrade is part of a project to ensure NUFinancials is up-to-date with Oracle enhancements, patches, and fixes. This upgrade will make the process of identifying and solving new problems quicker and more efficient. And also, it will significantly accelerate the delivery of new capabilities into our business to stay current and improve the overall user experience. Northwestern IT will perform a software update for Quest HPC storage system between 8 a.m. on Monday, March 23 and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. This work is necessary to improve storage system security and reliability.
Impact on Quest Users: - Quest remains available to use throughout the maintenance period and users will be able to submit and run jobs. - Quest will experience brief periods of storage response slowdowns between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day during the maintenance window.

The myHR system will undergo scheduled maintenance in order to apply Tax Update 26-A. This maintenance necessitates system downtime, meaning myHR, including Self Service and Careers, will be unavailable beginning Saturday, March 7th, at 7 a.m. through approximately 3 p.m.
What This Means
• Functionality — The system components and capabilities you currently enjoy on myHR will continue to function after the upgrade as they do now. Your user experience will be unchanged. Before logging into myHR after the update, users will need to clear their cache.
• Data Availability — During the downtime, data lookup will remain available to administrators in the myHR reporting database. All reports will remain accessible in Cognos and myHR reporting queries.
