In order to receive a high level of support from Oracle for NUFinancials and avoid any security vulnerabilities, it is vital that we upgrade NUFinancials from PeopleTools 8.61.09 to PeopleTools 8.61.11.

This maintenance necessitates system downtime, during which NUFinancials will be unavailable.
We anticipate the maintenance will extend until 3pm at the latest.

This work is necessary to restore redundant capacity and functionality for the storage system. During this maintenance period, users will have full access to Quest and all Quest services and be able to submit and run jobs. Users may experience intermittent slowness while accessing data on Quest. We recommend Quest users minimize submitting jobs that involve heavy file operations during this time frame.

Identified - The SOC has observed a small water leak within the Abbott Hall Data Center. The SOC is on site and investigating in partnership with Facilities Management and our mechanical vendor. Plastic sheeting is in place to protect the IT equipment from water. Current status is that the water is a slow drip. No services are impacted as a result of this incident.

Scheduled - Northwestern Information Technology will be performing a software upgrade to the IT firewall in the Evanston Campus. The IT firewall protects IT networks on the Evanston campus and also acts as the GlobalProtect VPN service. This new software brings us to the latest vendor recommended software as well as to address an random disconnect issue that has been seen with some Global Protect VPN clients. No impact to end users is expected during this upgrade due to the redundant nature of this equipment.

There will be two (one to two minute) service interruptions for each telephone as it registers to a different server. The myvoicemail.northwestern.edu portal will experience periods of unreachability during this maintenance as well.

Identified - Northwestern Information Technology has identified an issue and both Zoom Video Conferencing and Zoom Web Portal are unavailable.

While the vendor is working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible, we have not yet received a projected resolution time. In the meantime, Northwestern Information Technology recommends using Microsoft Teams to facilitate virtual meetings.

Resolved - Between 7:30 and 7:50 AM today, NUIT identified that users were unable to access CAESAR. This was due to an authentication service restarting as part of back-end service upgrades conducted this morning. CAESAR access has been restored, and NUIT will be monitoring CAESAR performance through-out the day.
