The myHR system will undergo scheduled maintenance in order to apply Oracle’s quarterly critical security patch. The maintenance necessitates system downtime, meaning myHR, including Self Service and Careers, will be unavailable beginning Saturday, August 8th, at 7 a.m. through approximately 3 p.m.
What This Means
• Functionality — The system components and capabilities you currently enjoy on myHR will continue to function after the upgrade as they do now. Your user experience will be unchanged. Before logging into myHR after the patch, users will need to clear their cache.
• Data Availability — During the downtime, data lookup will remain available to administrators in the myHR reporting database. All reports will remain accessible in Cognos and myHR reporting queries.

In order to receive a high level of support from Oracle for NUFinancials and avoid any security vulnerabilities, it is vital that we upgrade NUFinancials from PeopleTools 8.62.10 to PeopleTools 8.62.11.

This update is intended to improve the security posture of the eduroam wireless network. Devices that have not been updated to use certificate-based authentication on the eduroam network will no longer be able to connect. Scheduled - Northwestern Information Technology will apply a set of high-priority Oracle patches starting at 12:00 PM today for myHR, CAESAR, and NUFinancials. Similar to work in mid-June, we will implement a rolling update, meaning users may be briefly logged out of systems as the various servers are taken offline. Users will be able to log back in immediately and connect through another server.

We expect the rolling update to continue through approximately 1:30 PM. Thank you for your understanding as we work to secure the enterprise systems. Please feel free to share this with anyone in your area who may use myHR, CAESAR, or NUFinancials today.

Existing interactive sessions on the login nodes and Analytics Nodes, as well as batch jobs and Quest OnDemand sessions, were not impacted.

Northwestern IT will continue to monitor network performance.

Scheduled - Northwestern IT will update the wireless network authentication server with a new certificate effective 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16th. This server is used by the University's wireless system to provide secure access to the Northwestern network. With this change, users will be asked to accept the new certificate before establishing access to the eduroam wireless networks.
