Northwestern Information Technology will be performing a software upgrade to the network routers and switches in the Chicago Data Center. This new software brings us to the latest vendor recommended software and also protects us from security vulnerabilities that have been released.

Servers and equipment with a single connection to the data center network will lose network connectivity for ~15 minutes while their upstream switch reboots to load the new software.

No service impact is expected for equipment with redundant connections to the data center network, including NUCloud and the enterprise virtualization clusters.
